In this tutorial, you will learn how to go from sketch to render in just a few minutes with a simple drawing and a text description.

You’ve probably tried dragging your sketch into the render window, typed a prompt, and got something like the image below.

Why is there no color? Why is it still a line drawing? Is my prompt wrong? By the end of reading this, you will be able to answer all of these questions.

Start in Render Pen mode

  1. Go to the right toolbar dropdown and select Render Pen

  2. Anytime you have a line drawing or sketch that you plan on rendering with a prompt you must first be in Render Pen mode.

  1. Find a drawing from the device you are using that is in JPG or PNG format.
    1. Drag and drop the image onto the canvas and wait for the AI to add base values.

    2. Click on the generated rendering to send it to your canvas.

  1. Now that your sketch has some base values added you can start to write your text description.

  1. After writing your prompt click the Render button and wait 10-15 seconds.

    1. The prompt used in this example was “A futuristic shiny motorcycle design concept, By Tesla, Unreal Engine.”

  2. After you receive your generated results you can choose to send them to your canvas to further go in that direction or generate more variations on your base rendering.
